Jim Stragalinos and Mark Crain brewed a Pale Ale on Friday, September 16, 2005

Straight Infusion mash at 154F for 90 minutes
Recipe for 10gal is:

    Grain

    • 18# Briess Pale Ale Malt
    • 3# Bonlander Munich Malt
    • 1/2# Caramel 120
    • Calculated SRM is 9.1
    • Calculated OG is 1.049

    Hops

    • 30g Chinook Full Wort boil (12 alpha originally but several years old)
    • 30g Cascade 15min (5.50 alpha)
    • 30g Cascade 3min (5.50 alpha)
    • 30g Cascade dry hop on 10/6/05

    Calculated IBU 28.7
    Watsonville Fair water plus 2Tbs CaSO4
    1tsp Irish Moss @ 15 minutes
    Yeast WLP 001
    OG was 1.050
     

Steve Rannals and Larry Lynch-Freshner brewed a Brown Ale on Saturday, September 17, 2005.

Single infusion mash @ 158 for 2 hours.
Recipe for 10 gal is:

    Grain:

    • 15# Pale Malt
    • 2# Caramel 60
    • 2# Munich
    • 1# Wheat
    • 8oz Chocolate malt

    Hops:

    • 1 oz Perle, 70min
    • 1 oz Saaz, 5 min

    The batch was split into 2 5 gal carboys, one used Seabright Brewery yeast, the other Lavin #56 dry yeast.
