- 3# Bonlander Munich Malt
- 1/2# Caramel 120
- Calculated SRM is 9.1
- Calculated OG is 1.049
Hops
- 30g Chinook Full Wort boil (12 alpha originally but several years old)
- 30g Cascade 15min (5.50 alpha)
- 30g Cascade 3min (5.50 alpha)
- 30g Cascade dry hop on 10/6/05
Calculated IBU 28.7 Watsonville Fair water plus 2Tbs CaSO4 1tsp Irish Moss @ 15 minutes Yeast WLP 001 OG was 1.050
Steve Rannals and Larry Lynch-Freshner brewed a Brown Ale on Saturday, September 17, 2005.
Single infusion mash @ 158 for 2 hours. Recipe for 10 gal is:
Grain:
- 15# Pale Malt
- 2# Caramel 60
- 2# Munich
- 1# Wheat
- 8oz Chocolate malt
Hops:
- 1 oz Perle, 70min
- 1 oz Saaz, 5 min
The batch was split into 2 5 gal carboys, one used Seabright Brewery yeast, the other Lavin #56 dry yeast.
